You have a mountain of laundry and no time to deal with it. Maybe you have been thinking about trying a laundry pick-up and delivery service, but are not sure what to expect. Will your clothes be handled with care? How does scheduling work? What if something goes wrong?
We get it. Handing your laundry to someone else for the first time feels like a leap of faith. That is why we want to walk you through exactly how our mobile laundry service works, from the moment you schedule a pickup to the moment clean, folded clothes land back at your door. No surprises. Just four simple steps.
Whether you live in a house, apartment, condo, or work in an office, our laundry pickup and delivery service in San Diego is designed to fit your life. Here is how the entire process works.
Step 1: Schedule Your Pickup
Getting started takes about two minutes. You have three ways to book:
When you schedule, you will:
That is it. No contracts, no commitments. Just schedule when you need us.
Step 2: We Pick Up From Your Door
On your scheduled day, our driver arrives during your selected time window. You do not need to be home or even answer the door. Here is what most customers do:
There is no need to sort your laundry before we arrive. We handle all sorting at our facility by color, fabric type, and care instructions. Just bag it up and leave it out.
Our laundry service pick up and delivery works for houses, apartments, condos, and offices across San Diego County and Riverside County. Wherever you are, we come to you.
Step 3: We Wash, Sanitize, and Fold
Once your laundry arrives at our facility, our team gets to work. Here is what happens:
For dry cleaning items, we use GreenEarth solvents, an eco-friendly alternative that cleans without the harsh chemicals found in traditional dry cleaning. You can learn more about our ozone sanitization process and why it matters for your family.
Step 4: We Deliver Back Next Day
Here is the part people love most: the turnaround.
Your wash and fold items come back neatly folded, bagged, and ready to put straight into your drawers and closets. Dry cleaning and pressed items are returned on hangers with garment bags to keep them crisp.
You open the door, pick up your bag, and your laundry is done for you. That is the whole process.
We know the “what happens behind the scenes” question matters, especially the first time you use an in-home laundry service. Here is a more detailed look at what takes place once your clothes arrive at our facility.
Intake and sorting. Every order is tagged and tracked from the moment it arrives. We sort your items by color (lights, darks, whites), fabric weight, and care label instructions. Delicates get separated. Items with stains get flagged for pre-treatment.
Ozone sanitization with ArtiClean. Before anything goes into the wash, we run every load through our ArtiClean ozone sanitization system. Ozone is a powerful, natural sanitizer that eliminates 99.9% of bacteria, viruses, allergens, dust mites, and odor-causing compounds. It works without extra chemicals and is gentle on fabrics. This is not an upsell; it is included free on every single load because we believe clean laundry should actually be clean. Read more about how ozone sanitization works.
Commercial-grade washing. We use Maytag and Speed Queen commercial equipment, the same brands trusted by professional laundromats nationwide. These machines clean more thoroughly than residential units because they use higher water volumes, stronger agitation cycles, and more precise temperature controls. Your selected detergent (Tide, Gain, All Free & Clear, or 7th Generation) is measured precisely for each load size.
Eco-friendly dry cleaning. If your order includes dry cleaning, those items go through our GreenEarth dry cleaning process. GreenEarth uses a silicone-based solvent that is non-toxic, odorless, and gentler on fabrics than traditional perchloroethylene (perc) solvents. It is better for your clothes and better for the environment. Learn more about our dry cleaning service.
Quality check and packaging. Before anything leaves our facility, every order goes through a quality check. We inspect for missed stains, proper folding, and correct item counts. Wash and fold items are neatly folded and sealed in bags. Pressed and dry-cleaned garments are placed on hangers with protective garment bags. Your order is then loaded for delivery.

If this is your first time considering a laundry pickup and delivery near me search, these are the questions we hear most often.
How much does laundry pickup and delivery cost?
Our wash and fold service is $2.49 per pound for weekly scheduled pickups or $2.69 per pound for on-request service. Pressing is $4.50 per item. There is a $49.99 minimum order and a $5.99 transportation fee per pickup. Most customers find that the time they save more than makes up for the cost, and our weekly rate rewards customers who make it a regular part of their routine.
Do I need to sort my laundry before pickup?
No. You do not need to sort anything. Just put your dirty laundry in a bag and leave it out. Our team sorts every order by color, fabric type, and care instructions at our facility. If you have specific instructions for certain items, you can add notes when you schedule your pickup or attach a note to the item.
What if I am not home during the pickup or delivery window?
That is completely fine. Most of our customers are not home. Just leave your bag in your designated pickup spot, the porch, front step, lobby desk, or wherever works for your location. We will pick it up during your scheduled window and return it to the same spot. If you live in a gated community or secured building, just let us know how to access the drop-off point when you schedule.
What detergents do you use, and can I choose a hypoallergenic option?
You choose your detergent when you schedule. We offer Tide, Gain, All Free & Clear, and 7th Generation. If you or someone in your household has sensitive skin or allergies, All Free & Clear and 7th Generation are excellent hypoallergenic choices. Your preference is saved to your account for future orders.
Is my laundry mixed with other people’s clothes?
Never. Your order is tagged, tracked, and processed individually from the moment we pick it up to the moment we deliver it back. Your clothes are washed in their own load with your selected detergent. We do not combine orders.
Is Freshly Folded insured, and how long have you been in business?
Yes, we are fully insured and bonded. Freshly Folded is a family-owned business run by Steve and his wife, and we have been serving San Diego families and businesses for years. We built the business on trust, transparent pricing, and ozone sanitization on every load. Your clothes are in careful, accountable hands from the moment we pick them up. Call (619) 586-5755 if you would like to learn more about who we are.
Do I have to sign a contract or commit to a schedule?
No contract, no commitment, and no cancellation fee. You can schedule a single on-request pickup at $2.69/lb to try us out, or set up weekly service at $2.49/lb and pause or cancel anytime. There is no minimum number of pickups and no penalty for skipping a week. Everything is managed through your account at Freshly Folded or by calling (619) 586-5755.
What exactly happens on my very first pickup?
Your first pickup works exactly like every pickup after it, just schedule a day and time window, choose your detergent (Tide, Gain, All Free & Clear, or 7th Generation), and leave your bag out. Our driver picks it up, we sort by color and fabric, run everything through ArtiClean ozone sanitization and our Maytag/Speed Queen commercial equipment, fold it all, and deliver it back the next day. The $49.99 minimum order covers about 20 pounds, and the $5.99 transportation fee is flat regardless of where you are in our service area. Book your first at Freshly Folded.
Are there any hidden fees I should know about?
None. Freshly Folded charges the per-pound rate ($2.49/lb weekly or $2.69/lb on-request) and a flat $5.99 transportation fee per pickup. That is it. There are no sorting fees, bag fees, fuel surcharges, rush fees, or stain treatment add-ons. Ozone sanitization is included free on every load. Steve and his wife built this business on transparency; the price you see is the price you pay. Text (619) 389-3206 with any questions.
