How Laundry Pickup and Delivery Works at Freshly Folded

Laundry pickup is exactly what it sounds like: we come to your door, collect your dirty laundry, and bring it back clean and folded.

Choose an available pickup window when you book. We collect your bag, wash and fold your laundry at our La Mesa facility, and return standard wash-and-fold orders the next business day after pickup. If you are adding dry cleaning or other special-care items, confirm their return date before booking.

Handing over a week’s clothes takes trust. Before choosing a laundry pickup service, ask where the laundry is processed, how to communicate care instructions, and what the full order will cost.

Know where your clothes go

We wash and fold at our La Mesa facility. Our wash-and-fold service includes sorting by color and fabric, followed by washing, drying, folding, and bagging. Tell us about stains, delicate pieces, and special instructions before collection so we can confirm the handling they need.

Choose your detergent

Our wash-and-fold detergent choices are Tide, Gain, All Free Clear, 7th Generation, and Persil, with no detergent-choice upcharge. Request your preferred option when you schedule a pickup. If fragrance is a concern, confirm the exact detergent formula rather than relying on the brand name alone.

Understand the wash process

Our ozone laundry process uses an ArtiClean system as part of the wash. It is included in wash and fold, not sold as a separate upgrade. Ozone does not replace care-label instructions or the need to identify items requiring a different cleaning method.

Compare the whole order

Check the per-pound rate, minimum, pickup fee, and return date together. A small bag can reach the minimum before it reaches the advertised per-pound total. What to Expect on Your First Pickup

You can arrange pickup without being home. Confirm an accessible collection spot and describe it in your booking notes before leaving your sealed bag there.

Before pickup:

  • Bag your laundry in a sealable bag. Ask about reusable bags when arranging recurring service.
  • Identify items that need a different detergent or special care, and note the instructions when booking.
  • Flag specific stains in the booking notes
  • If you have hangers from previous deliveries, leave them by the bag

At pickup:

  • Driver arrives in the time window you selected
  • Doorstep weighing and calibration are not established by the available evidence.
  • Check the applicable rate, minimum, and pickup fee before confirming your order.
  • Hand the bag to the driver, or use the collection spot agreed for your booking.
  • The driver leaves with your laundry.

Between pickup and return:

  • Wash, dry, and fold at our La Mesa facility
  • Standard wash-and-fold return is the next business day after pickup. Confirm a separate return date for dry-cleaning or mixed orders.
  • Same-day service is not available.

Return:

  • Bagged and tagged with your name
  • Folded by hand, organized in stacks
  • Delivered to your door — sealed bag if you’re not home

Pickup fee and Minimums

The pickup fee is $5.99 per pickup and return trip. It is added separately to the laundry charge. The minimum laundry charge is $49.99 per pickup.

You can arrange collection without being home. Agree on an accessible pickup spot before leaving your bag out, and include clear access instructions in your booking.

How to set up no-contact pickup:

  • Bag your laundry the morning of pickup
  • Place at agreed location (front door, garage, mailroom, doorman, etc.)
  • Confirm location in the booking notes
  • We text you when pickup is complete

Apartment buildings:

  • If you want to use a mailroom or front desk, confirm that your building permits the handoff and that the driver can reach it.
  • For walkup buildings, agree on an accessible collection spot when booking.
  • Note your unit number and building access details in booking

Gated communities:

  • Provide gate code in booking notes
  • Or arrange to meet the driver at the gate
  • For HOA-managed communities, confirm any visitor-entry requirements before the pickup.

Pets:

  • Keep pets safely away from the collection spot during pickup and return.
  • We do not enter properties beyond the agreed pickup location

Agree on a return location that the driver can access and where your laundry can wait safely.
