Freshly Folded collects laundry from eligible Mission Beach homes, rentals, and businesses and returns standard wash-and-fold orders the next business day. Clothing, towels, bedding, dry cleaning, pressing, and accepted specialty items can be arranged through one pickup.
Weekly wash and fold is $2.49 per pound, and on-request service is $2.69 per pound. A $49.99 minimum and $5.99 pickup charge apply.
Consider someone renting the upper half of a small building on one of the Mission Beach courts, the walk streets running between Mission Boulevard and the water. There is no car. Work, food, the beach, and most of daily life happen within a few blocks on foot or by bike, which was much of the appeal.
Laundry is the exception. Two weeks of clothing, towels, and sheets is twenty-odd pounds, and twenty-odd pounds is not something anyone carries several blocks and back on a bicycle. The building has no laundry of its own. Borrowing a friend’s car works once, but in Mission Beach it costs something specific: giving up a parking space in summer means circling for another one later, which nobody offers twice. So the laundry waits, and the pile becomes the reason the errand feels bigger every week.
The realisation is that the weight never needed to move under its own power. If a service comes to the property, the entire transport problem disappears, and the question shrinks to a much smaller one: where exactly can a vehicle stop, given the unit’s front door opens onto a pedestrian walkway with no road at all.
The answer is the alley. Like most Mission Beach properties, the building takes vehicle access from the alley behind rather than the court in front, so the resident sets the handoff point at the alley-side entrance, records which alley and which building, and saves detergent and folding preferences on the account. A driver takes the bags from the alley on the scheduled day and brings the finished wash and fold back to the same place the next business day. The twenty-odd pounds never cross the walkway on anyone’s shoulder.
The last errand that required a car stopped requiring one. The bike keeps doing everything else.

The alleys are narrow and get busy. Parked vehicles, bins on collection day, and summer congestion all affect where a driver can stop and for how long. Choose a handoff point clear of bins and driveways, and expect conditions to change between winter and peak season.
