When the back-bar dryer sets the pace of your Saturday, the towels are running the salon. We pick up the towels and capes you already own, wash them at our own facility and bring them back folded. Standard wash-and-fold loads are ordinarily back the next business day; for salon volume, your quote confirms the return day.

Consider a five-chair salon in North Park on a booked Saturday. The washer behind the back bar has been running since the first color appointment. By early afternoon the black towels are down to a handful and the next batch is still damp in the dryer. The assistant who should be shampooing is folding instead.
So a stylist reaches for a white towel to rinse out a toner, and it ends up with a mark that probably won’t wash out. The owner apologizes for the wait, loses twenty minutes of her own column, and is the last one in the building at close, moving one more load into the dryer.
None of that shows up on the product order or the utility bill. It shows up as a salon running a little behind all day, because the laundry is setting the pace.
Search for a towel service in San Diego and many of the results are rental programs, where the provider owns the towels and swaps its own stock on a route. The owner in our example didn’t need someone else’s towels. She had black ones she picked because color marks hide on them, and a shelf sized to her chairs. What she needed was for the washing to happen somewhere other than the back bar.
That is how we work. You keep ownership of the towels, capes and robes; we collect them, wash and fold them, and return the same stock to your shelf. Our page on customer-owned towel cleaning explains that model for every kind of business. This page covers the salon laundry service side: what salons, barbershops and spas send, how color marks are handled and how the handoff works.
Tell us which of these you use and what is on them. The quote starts from your actual items, not a package.
Shampoo and color towels, often black or dark so marks show less, plus washable cutting and color capes. Flag the towels used with lightener, toner or developer.
Neck towels, hot-towel shave towels and capes. California’s neck strip rule (section 985) calls for a sanitary strip or towel between the cape and each client’s neck, so shops that use towels rather than paper strips go through a lot of them. Paper strips are single-use and stay out of the bag.
Hand, manicure and pedicure towels. Mention polish, remover and wax when you ask for a quote, and expect polish marks to stay after washing.
Facial towels, robes and the towels from a hot-towel cabinet. Wax and oils need a mention before pickup. Treatment sheets and table linens have their own page: massage laundry service.
Towels with blood on them, from injectables or other clinical work, stay out of a salon order. Med spas should ask about medical-office laundry before booking anything.
Color work leaves marks, and we don’t promise stain removal. Permanent dye on a light towel usually stays after washing, and lightener can leave pale patches on dark towels that no wash can restore. What helps is knowing which towels are which before the first pickup.
Tie off the towels from color, toner and lightener services in their own bag, so they don’t travel with the towels that go around clients’ necks.
List them in your quote message: permanent or demi color, toner, lightener and developer, plus any wax or oils. That tells us how the load should be handled.
If a towel is too marked for a client, move it to color work or retire it before it goes in the bag. Paying to wash a rag rarely makes sense.
California’s Board of Barbering and Cosmetology has its own towel rule (section 987): a used towel goes into a closed container until it is laundered, and clean towels are kept in clean, closed cabinets or containers. Under that rule your salon already has the two places a pickup starts and ends, the closed hamper and the clean cabinet. Meeting the rule remains the salon’s responsibility.
Send the item list, your ZIP code and your busiest days. Weigh one full bag first: stand on a bathroom scale holding it, then subtract your own weight. Tell us how often you need pickup; the quote confirms the schedule.
Used towels keep collecting in the closed hamper behind the back bar or in the dispensary, as they do now. On pickup day, whoever is on the front desk ties off the bag and hands it to our driver at the salon door, within the pickup window your quote sets. Color-work towels travel in their own tied bag.
Your towels are washed by our own team at our own facility, in commercial Maytag and Speed Queen machines, with ArtiClean ozone on every load. If clients comment on scent, name the detergent you want from Tide, Gain, All Free & Clear, Seventh Generation and Persil. For sensitive skin, our hypoallergenic laundry service page explains the options.
Towels return folded and bagged. Standard wash-and-fold loads are ordinarily back the next business day; your quote sets the return day for your salon’s volume, so tell us your busiest day and ask for a return before it. The bag goes straight into the closed cabinet.
Business accounts are quoted, so there is no salon rate card on this page. As the business terms on our pricing page set out, your quote reflects the items, your weekly volume and your pickup frequency.
Hand towels, shampoo towels, capes and robes don’t weigh the same, and color-work towels may travel in a separate bag.
Count in pounds rather than towels. One full bag on the bathroom scale, times the bags you fill in a week, is a better starting number than a guess.
How many pickups a week keep your shelf stocked through the busiest day. Tell us what you need; the quote confirms the schedule.

In the North Park example, a good week looks ordinary. The bag goes out on the agreed day, the folded stack returns to the cabinet, and on Saturday the assistant stays at the bowl. The back-bar dryer is off by close.
Liz and Steve Carlin run Freshly Folded, and between them they have 28 years of experience in laundry and garment care. Your towels are washed at our own facility and collected from salons across San Diego County. Our service areas page shows where we collect, and you can read more about Liz, Steve and the business.
Salons are one of several business types we collect from; the rest are on our commercial laundry service page. If your building also has a fitness floor, ask about our gym towel service too.
Straight answers for salon, barber and spa owners.
Ask about your salonWe wash the towels your salon already owns and supply no rental stock. You keep the colors and sizes you picked. We pick them up, wash and fold them, and bring the same towels back.
We don’t promise stain removal. Permanent color usually stays on a light towel after washing, and lightener can leave pale patches on dark towels. Bag color-work towels separately and name the products you use when you ask for a quote.
Standard wash-and-fold loads are ordinarily back the next business day. For salon volume, your quote confirms the pickup days and the return day, so tell us which day you are busiest and how many towels you use between pickups.
A salon quote starts from what you send, how many pounds you fill each week and how many pickups you need. There are no contracts, and Net-30 billing is available after the third month. Weigh one full bag before you ask, and the quote will start from a real number.
Neck towels, shave towels and washable capes can all go into a quote. Capes vary, so send a photo of the care label; some are made to be wiped rather than washed. Paper neck strips are single-use and stay out of the bag.
We pick up from hair salons, barbershops, nail salons, esthetics studios and day spas across San Diego County. Send your ZIP code with your quote request, and the quote will confirm pickup days for your address.
