Picture a treatment-room day

The table is remade after every client. The washing waits until the last one leaves.

Every session ends the same way. Fitted sheet off, flat sheet off, face-cradle cover off, and a fresh set on before the next client arrives.

Work alone and the used sets ride home with you. The washer runs after dinner, the dryer after that, and an evening you meant to spend off your feet goes to folding fitted sheets.

Run a studio with a few rooms and it shows up sooner. By mid-afternoon the shelf is down to two face-cradle covers, someone has a small load going in the back, and a therapist is waiting on the dryer between clients.

Then there is the oil. Washed sheets can still feel slick, or smell stale once they are folded away, because oil and lotion build up in cotton session after session.

What goes in the bag

Everything that comes off the table, plus the towels beside it.

We wash linens your business already owns; we don’t rent or supply them. This page covers the treatment room; our commercial laundry service page covers everything else a business sends.

01 / Table linens

Flat sheets, fitted sheets and face-cradle covers.

The set that changes with every client. Tell us how many of each a setup uses and what they are made of: cotton, flannel, microfiber or a blend. Send the care label for anything unusual, such as a fitted sheet cut for a wide table.

02 / Warmth and support

Blankets, top covers and bolster covers.

Blankets and fleece top covers go in less often but take up more of the bag. Bolster and cushion covers can go in once they are off the foam; the bolster itself stays with you.

03 / Towels

Hand towels and spa towels.

Hand towels from the treatment room, and bath towels or wraps if your spa has showers or a steam room. If towels are most of what you send, our commercial towel service covers the towel side in more depth. Salon color towels and capes have their own salon towel laundry service, and yoga or fitness studios whose load is mostly mat towels should start with our gym towel laundry service.

Linens with blood or other bodily fluids, anything that has touched a sharp, and linens from clinical treatment need a separate conversation before anything is booked. Our medical office laundry page explains that review. Electric table warmers and heating pads stay out of the bag.

What to tell us about oil
Oil, lotion and heat

Tell us about the oil before the first pickup.

Oil is the part of massage laundry that changes how a load is handled. Say what you use and how much reaches the linens, and your quote confirms the handling before we collect anything.

What to put in your message
  • The products: oil, lotion, cream or gel, and the base if you know it, such as sweet almond, coconut, grapeseed or jojoba.
  • How heavy: a light glide, or sheets that still feel slick after a session.
  • Whether washed sheets smell stale or feel tacky once they are folded.
  • Anything else that reaches the fabric: hot-stone work, body wraps, clay, scrubs or paraffin.

We don’t promise that every trace of oil or odor will come out. We agree the handling with you in the quote and settle anything we can’t accept before the first pickup.

The handoff

The route a bag of sheets takes.

  1. 01

Fill one bag as you strip each table

Keep a laundry bag in the treatment room or the linen closet and drop each used set in as it comes off. When the last client leaves, the day’s linens are already packed.

  2. 02

Agree on a handoff that never interrupts a session

You can’t answer the door with a client on the table, so we settle the spot first: the front desk of a day spa, the reception of a shared wellness suite, or a set place inside the door of a private studio. Pickups run Monday to Friday 7am to 5pm and Saturday 8am to 12pm. Tell us how often you need pickup; the quote confirms the schedule.

  3. 03

    Washed at our own facility

Your linens go to the facility run by Liz and Steve Carlin’s family, into commercial Maytag and Speed Queen machines. ArtiClean ozone is part of every load. For a treatment room kept scent-free, name All Free & Clear as your detergent; the other choices are Tide, Gain, Seventh Generation and Persil.

  4. 04

    Folded, bagged and returned

Sets return folded and bagged, ready for the shelf. Standard wash-and-fold orders are ordinarily back the next business day. For a studio’s regular volume, the quote confirms the return day, so you can count your sets against it.

How the price is set

Three things set the price of your linen service.

We don’t publish a business rate. Your quote is built from what you send, how much of it there is each week and how often we collect. Household wash-and-fold prices are on our pricing page; business pricing is quoted separately.

  1. 01

    What you send

Sheets, face-cradle covers, blankets, bolster covers and towels, with a rough count for each setup.

  2. 02

    How much each week

Weekly volume is counted in pounds. We haven’t published a weight for a massage sheet set yet, so weigh one day’s bag: step on a bathroom scale holding it, then subtract your own weight.

  3. 03

    How often we collect

Once a week, or more often if the shelf runs thin by midweek. Your quote puts the collection days in writing.

ContractNo contracts

Planning illustration

How many sets to keep on the shelf

Count the sessions between the day a bag leaves and the day it comes back clean, then add one busy day’s worth. For example, six sessions a day with sets back two working days after pickup means 12 sets in circulation, plus 6 for a heavy day: 18 sets. Use the return day in your own quote, not this example.

Smaller practice? Send your weekly count anyway. The quote will say what arrangement fits.

What changes

The table gets made from a shelf of folded sets.

The last session ends and the bag goes by the door. The dryer at home stays off, and nobody at the studio waits on a load between clients.

To start, send your studio name, ZIP code, sessions per week and what each setup uses, along with the oils and lotions on them. The quote comes back with what we can accept, the pickup schedule and the return day. Not sure your address is covered? Check our service areas first.

Or email your linen list to hello@freshlyfolded.com.

Massage and spa laundry questions

Answers for therapists and spa managers weighing a linen service.

Ask about your linens
Can you get massage oil out of sheets?

Tell us which oils, lotions or creams you use and how heavily they reach the linens, and your quote confirms how the load will be handled before the first pickup. Normal laundering may not remove every trace of oil, so we don’t promise that all oil or odor will come out of heavily used sheets.

Which massage and spa linens can I send?

Flat sheets, fitted sheets, face-cradle covers, blankets, fleece top covers, removable bolster and cushion covers, hand towels and spa towels that your business owns. Linens with blood or other bodily fluids, anything that has touched a sharp, and items from clinical treatment need a separate conversation before anything is booked.

How quickly will my linens come back?

Standard wash-and-fold orders are ordinarily back the next business day. For a studio’s regular weekly volume, your quote confirms the return day, so plan the number of sets you keep around that date.

Do I have to sign a contract?

No. There are no contracts. Net-30 billing is available after the third month, and your quote sets out the account terms before the first pickup.

How is the price for massage linens worked out?

Three things set it: which linens you send, their weight across a week, and how often we collect. Weighing one day’s linen bag gives a realistic weekly figure to start from. The published program range is 100 to 5,000 lb a week.

Can you wash our linens without fragrance?

Ask for All Free & Clear in your quote request. It is made without perfumes or dyes, which suits a treatment room kept scent-free. Tide, Gain, Seventh Generation and Persil are the other detergent choices.
