Ozone, written O₃, is a molecule containing three oxygen atoms. Ordinary oxygen, O₂, contains two. In an ozone laundry system, ozone is dissolved in water used during washing. It is part of the wash process, not a fragrance applied to the finished clothes.

How does ozone help sanitize laundry?
ArtiClean publishes laboratory summaries showing bacterial reductions in specified ozone wash cycles. The equipment, wash formula and test conditions matter when interpreting those results.
The full wash formula still matters
Several of the manufacturer’s test cycles also used detergent and bleach. Ozone equipment alone does not establish a detergent-free process or the right formula for every garment.
Results belong to their test conditions
The summaries name the equipment, organisms and wash conditions tested. They support the role of ozone in those cycles, rather than a universal result for all fabrics and all laundry.
Manufacturer testing is not a measurement of an individual Freshly Folded order. Our ordinary wash-and-fold service does not include sterile processing.

Household wash and fold is $2.35/lb on a weekly subscription, $2.49/lb standard weekly or $2.69/lb on request. The laundry minimum is $49.99, plus a $5.99 pickup charge. There is no separate ozone surcharge.
For example, 25 lb on standard weekly service is $62.25 in laundry charges plus $5.99 pickup, totaling $68.24 before any separately requested extras. Specialty items and commercial accounts are priced separately.

Is there an extra charge for ozone laundry?
There is no separate ozone surcharge. Household wash and fold is $2.35/lb on a weekly subscription, $2.49/lb standard weekly or $2.69/lb on request, with a $49.99 laundry minimum and a $5.99 pickup charge. Specialty items and commercial accounts have separate terms.
When is ozone used during the laundry process?
The ozone treatment is used during washing, through ozonated water. Drying and folding follow the wash. It is not an extra fragrance or finishing spray applied after the clothes are cleaned.
Does ozone replace detergent or bleach?
Not automatically. Our ozone system is part of the complete wash process. The formula still depends on the fabric and its care instructions. Discuss detergent or bleach preferences with us before pickup.
Can I send everyday clothes, towels and sheets?
Ordinary machine-washable clothes, towels and sheets belong in wash and fold when their care labels allow it. Ask first about wool, silk, delicate finishes, bulky bedding or anything labeled for dry cleaning.
Can I request a fragrance-free detergent?
Tell us your preference when arranging service and confirm the available formula. Ozone treatment does not by itself make the entire order fragrance-free or establish suitability for a particular skin condition.
Does ozone mean my laundry is sterile?
No. Our ordinary wash-and-fold service does not include sterile processing. Manufacturer laboratory results do not establish a clinical disinfection result for each customer order. Items that require a clinical standard need the appropriate specialist process.
How soon will my laundry be returned?
Standard wash and fold returns the next business day after collection. Ozone treatment is included in that process. Confirm separate turnaround for dry cleaning, specialty items and commercial orders.
Can a business arrange laundry pickup with Freshly Folded?
Yes. Tell us the textile types, approximate volume, pickup address and desired schedule so we can review acceptance and provide a commercial quote. Household per-pound rates and turnaround do not establish the terms of a business account.
